Multiplex Test
Advanced Clinical Lab provides a multiplex test that simultaneously checks for the flu and COVID-19, using a single specimen. This facilitates quicker diagnosis, saves important testing materials for later use, and offers surveillance for the flu and COVID-19. Particularly in high-risk populations, correct identification of the virus will ensure early treatment and efficient management.
Polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
This checks for the genetic material of the virus itself or any fragments of it while it is in the process of breaking down. The most efficient and accurate test for detecting an active infection is PCR. Although some PCR tests could take hours to complete, some are done quickly.
Antigen test /Rapid Test
This detects antigens, which are small proteins found on the virus's surface. Usually, antigen tests last 15 to 30 minutes. The greatest amount of virus is in your body shortly after the onset of your symptoms, and that is when rapid antigen tests should be performed to yield the most accurate result.
